Dr. Peggy Fuhs, PhD, CRNP, Psychiatric Nurse Practicioner
Dr. Fuhs has been working in the field of holistic mind-body psychotherapy since 1981. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania, respectively, in 1966 and 1972. In 1980 she earned her doctorate in nursing (PhD), with a focus in psychology and psychiatric nursing, from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Fuhs has been certified as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing since 1991. A clinical nurse specialist's focus is on a holistic evaluation and intervention with the those who have psychiatric/mental health problems, using psychotherapy and nonprescription natural alternatives as appropriate.
In 2006, Dr. Fuhs became a certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP). This is a a state license that allows her to prescribe tests and psychiatric medications.
Dr. Fuhs is especially interested in helping people heal by integrating mind, body, and spirit. She often works with adults who struggle with the emotional effects of chronic illness and disability.
