Employment with Psych Choices

Clinical Staff Opportunities

We receive numerous resumes each month and are often in need of experienced therapists licensed in psychology, clinical social work, marriage & family therapy, or professional counselers that are certified in the state of Pennsylvania. We also welcome resumes from psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, as we are always looking to recruit professionals to support the Psych Choices mission.

The Psych Choices mission and vision can be summed up in 3 core areas: Happiness by Choice not by Chance, End the Stigma, and Holistic Approaches. Happiness by choice not by chance - shows that we expect patients to take ownership in their treatment and learn that change comes from more than just talk therapy. End the Stigma - is a social movement that Psych Choices vehemently supports and advocates for where mental health services should be viewed no differently than physical health check-ups. Lastly Holistic Approaches - means that we as a practice will offer services outside of medication to assist in total wellness.

Our Delaware County practice location is friendly, trauma informed and LGBTQI inclusive. We have 18 clinical office rooms. Clinical meetings are held each month where practitioners are available for collegial and case discussion. Our clinical director, Nate Prentice, provides ongoing clinical supervision as needed for all our therapists and medication providers hold case consultations amongst themselves for clinical support.

We require Pennsylvania licensure, and prefer at least 2 to 3 years of post-licensure experience for therapists. For medication providers who are licensed in PA, we prefer at least 4-5 years post-licensure experience. Therapists and psychiatric staff, who are willing to see patients of all ages and are highly recommended, are urged to apply at our practice as we service a wide range of individuals. We find that the demand for couples' therapy and child therapy is especially high.

If you are not yet on any commercial insurance panels, we will complete that paperwork for you. But please understand that it can take up to 4 months or more to complete this process. However, providers will usually start seeing patients once they're credentialed with the major insurance companies.

Therapists and medication providers both commonly begin on a part time, fee for service basis as they build up their caseload. All therapists, whether full time or part time, must work at least two evenings and/or weekends to accommodate our patient's needs. Psychiatrists are asked to work until 6 p.m. at least once a week, depending on the needs of the practice and number of hours offered.

For therapists who see at least 30 patients per week, and medication providers who service at least 20 billable hours per week--salaried positions are available, with health and disability insurance benefits, paid time off, and bonuses for productivity.

Psych Choices offers a lot of administrative support to our clinical staff and we are proud to be using Valant, an electronic system for practice management and clinical notes. What makes Psych Choices different from other practices is that we look to develop providers into branching out of the conventional counseling and medication model. We showcase a 15' x 15' multi-purpose room where we encourage providers to make it their own and build their individual practice by offering yoga classes, educational classes, group therapy etc. to the community.
